Rubellite is the red variety of tourmaline, and this one exhibits a dark purplish red color. It is not entirely eye clean with numerous internal flaws, some of which break the surface of the gem. Still, it is well cut, and the deep reddish color of the gem still shines through. This gemstone measures 7.9 x 6.0 mm. The diamonds average 1.7 mm in diameter and have a combined weight of 0.12 carat. These diamonds have an average color graded at L/M (top light brown) with average clarity of I-2, and are of good overall cut. They add a nice little sparkle next to the major center stone without distracting from it, and definitely face up better than their technical grades. The diamonds and the rubellite are all 100% natural, genuine, untreated, and unenhanced.
